The top button for my iPhone is jammed, and when I went out for a run, I somehow accidently did something to delete the text messaging icon from my home screen. I know you can move around and delete apps by pressing and holding an app until they look like they are vibrating, but I didn't even know that was possible with the messaging app the phone comes with.. How do I get it back?

Pretty sure that after 2 1/2 years since this question was aksed and answered, the OP has moved on by now...
My messaging icon has also disapeared and I've checked every folder and page on my phone. What should I do? I'm afraid to sync the phone in fear the change will be permanent. Help!
t's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
Look on another page or look in any folders you created.
mate you'll have to restore your phone to get everything back to normal.. i've never heard of the messages app dissapearing but a freash restore will surely help... 🙂
