Battery life has degraded of Iphone 3G

I have Iphone 3G, its battery life has gone low. If I run any application, the battery just work for 3 hours or less, even it is fully charged. How can I upgrade its battery?

iPhone 3G, iOS 4.2

How old is the phone? It's likely the battery capacity has reduced. Apple will replace it for you for USD 80, or you can probably find a local shop to do it for less. If you are handy with small tools you can do it yourself.

Hey, you can buy some batteries on ebay, even unofficial ones which have 2x the battery life of the normal one

I have bought it from Melbourne. But right now I am in India and here the local shops are not ready to change the battery. Any idea, how can i buy the battery from Apple store online?
