Does Apple TV support 3d movies

I haven't seen or heard mention of any 3D movies.

no it's not a feature currently supported by atv

sure they could release the really old type of 3d where you have to use the red and blue 3d glasses

but the hardware is not able to do the later 3d techs

@Rudegar One 1080p side by side image (one left/one right eye) can be combined on modern tv to one 3 D image.

Unfortunately the Apple TV's do not support 3D content. Although the techniques are ready, the Apple TV simple is not.

I've been streaming 3D 720 SBS videos for some time now, through my Apple TV 3rd gen. All from ripped 3D movies downloaded via bit torrent. So the techonology is there.

everything is there, apple tv 3 can support it, they need to allow it in itunes.

The thin+g is that apple TV has only 8 Gb memory, thus a movie should be downaloaded to computer and shared via home sharing to apple tv, maybe not the idea of apple tv experience?

They need to step up, others are allowing 3d movies and HD sound.

I suspect it's nothing to do with how much memory the Apple TV has and more to do with a general lack of interest in 3D movies, but no-one here will really know, if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance the Apple TV you can send Apple your feedback here

And noone should watch life of Pi without 3d vision.
