i recently purchased a 8-Core 2.4GHz Mac Pro.  It's installed with 4 x 4GB of third party 1066 MHz DDR3 memory.

Thought i had sufficient memory to render almost anything with the computer.

Tried rendering a 5 minute sequence within FCP 7.03.  However, error message keeps appearing: Out of memory.

i used some Boris Continuum Complete FxPlug effects and transitions in the timeline.

Is it common for 16GB Mac Pro to run out of memory to render a short video?

Or is the error due to the performance of the third party memory?

So far, system profiler shows the status for each DIMM to be ok.

i am uncertain whether i should get more of the same RAM? or should i remove the whole memory and look for other Apple Certified Memory to use?

Any advise?
