How do I delete downloads from the cloud?

OK - I'm interrested in uploading to the cloud, not downloading from the cloud. I downloaded some purchased songs, but there seems to be no way to delet them from my phone. No swiping, or deleting from itunes, or new playlist formed. Anyone have any help on this?

Since iOS 5 is still i Beta (as is iCloud for that matter) No-one can answer this. If you've downloaded stuff to your existing phone, I imagine you'll have to plug it in and go into iTunes then deselect the song(s) you don't want on your phone any more.

Natomicron, could not agree more. It's ridiculous we are forced into the cloud beta with features that are not fully developed and with no ability to remove/delete permanently applications from your download history. Ideally, you should be able to swipe and delete permanently whether it was free or purchased. If that's not an option, you should be able to configure the interface to remove this view completely from the iphone app application. I don't want people browsing my phone and seeing every app that i have ever downloaded since the beginning of time, especially my kids...poor choice and bad roll out not to have thought of this in advance. We need a fix ASAP. Cmon Apple, take care of this.

I second this request, and will do my best to add my opinion to EVERY post about being able to permanently and totally delete objects from my purchase history.

Crappy free apps that I will NEVER reinstall on any device.

Time-bombed paid apps that I will NEVER reinstall on any device - like all older versions of MLB.com at Bat.

*** apple? Give me control of my devices and my purchases!

Has no one at apple ever bought anything like a magazine at an airport, or a newspaper that they new they'd throw away? How about paying for something that they knew they'd have to replace, like a walkman or VHS player?

As a loyal iPhone user since its original release, I can say that I have downloaded countless free apps to give them a test run. More than 75% of those eventually got deleted because I simply didn't like the app, or because I figured the full version wasn't worth the price of admission. While seeing these in my cloud brings back memories (mostly painful), it mostly just takes up space and makes finding worthwhile apps almost impossible. We need to be able to control the content saved on our clouds, or else we will most likely never realize the full potential of the technology.

All that being said, I think any paid apps should stay on your cloud.

I have no problems deleting anything I purchase directly on the iPhone. That's what iTunes is for. The purchase is transferred to iTunes, and only synced back to the phone if I want it on the phone.

Not what Steve jobs said yesterday. He said that you would no longer need iTunes or a PC or mac to use the iPad or iPhone anymore so the ability to delete directly should be on every device, not just via iTunes. If not then I guess we really can't cut the cord.

I dont WANT this beta until its final. If hiding/deleting/modifying/dismissing my history will be available with the final version, I'll take it then. If Apple feels the App Store warrants restriction settings to prevent the downloading of various types of content, then it should also recognize that certain app downloads should not be broadcasted so hap-hazardly.

Provide feedback to Apple. http://www.apple.com/feedback/

I sent feedback via iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad/iTunes links. Give me the option to display what content is shown on my device

Until they give us this feature it looks as if part of the problem is fixed. If you sign out of your iTunes account you can no longer view your recent purchases until you sign back in. Previously, I was able to view recent purchases even though I was not signed in...an obvious bug!

I like the idea of being able to reinstall apps. If you need to erase your hardrive or reset your ipod you can get all your apps back easily. It would be nice to be able to permanently delete apps or books that you no longer want. I would hate to accidentally reinstall all the freeware junk I have tried!!
