Will Logic Studio 9 work on OSX Lion?

When OSX Lion comes out, will Logic Studio 9 work on that OS?

Logic Studio, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Happy to report that I am running Logic in Developer Preview 4 with no problems as of yet. At first I had to run it in 32 bit because it wouldn't open in Developer Prev 3 but since 4 came out I can run it in both 32 bit and 64 bit. If there are problems, the problems will most likely be any third party software and/or vsti that haven't switched ovet to 64 bit codec... Please don't swamp this forum with my plugin won't work, I repeat it'll mostly be software companies needing to up their programs to run 64 bit.

No, 32-bit plugins still work in Logic via the bridge. If a plugin doesn't work, it's an issue with the plugin and Lion.

Rosetta = PowerPC emulation on an Intel CPU. That never worked for realtime applications, like audio.

The 32/64 bit confusion is because Lion requires a CPU that is 64-bit cabable. That has nothing to do with being able to run 32-bit applications or plugins! You can run 32-bit Intel applications on Lion just fine.

Exceptions are custom device drivers and kernel extensions, which have to be 64-bit to be compatible. This could create some trouble for hardware that didn't receive driver updates in the last 2 years... Could be annoying, but it is a vendor problem, not Apples. But this is also not new in Lion. The MacBook Pros and iMacs which Apples shipped this year required the same on SnowLeopard.

Hmm, a relatively short thread for such a widely discussed topic online. Anyway, I was hoping to find someone here whom has installed OSX Lion and has Logic 9 running without problems. If you are he/she, can you confirm that this auto-save feature that Lion boasts is working? Logic 9 has never ran very stable on any of my 3 Apple setups and I'm concerned that auto-save will be of dire importance upon making the jump to Lion.

Any experience with the afformentioned appreciated.

Cheers!

Yes thanks, I understand that. The problem is the OS won't let me update. The error messages are described in my previous post. Either: You don't need to update, or, I can't update to this version because your version is too old. I've tried to update incrementally too, but to no avail. Good job I had a spare running SL to use for my gig last night.
