Yes you used to able to do this , it was very easy up until iOS 11 that version of pages initially you were able to essentially right click it on your iPad then the “duplicate” option together with copy, rename etc popped up and you would choose rename ,no problem .THIS HAS NOW DISSAPPEARED .

You can't. In fact, I don't remember that it was ever possible.
Actually you can duplicate a document. From the main Pages document window, tap the edit button at the top right corner. Then select the document that you want to duplicate. Tap the + sign in the upper left corner. Then tap Done in the upper right corner
Thanks.
I stand corrected.
Here is how I duplicate a Pages file:
share
mail (to my own email address)
open the email
click on it
copy To Pages
Change Recents to Browse.
Brilliant! That’s it well done , why they’ve done it this way !?
That solved it , now they just have to leave it alone !
Sorry didn’t mean to send that !
Thank you , Dave
Look at the bottom of the image you supplied where it has Recents (in orange), next to it is Browse — tap on Browse.
Still not working for me. Even when I am in Browse, I still don’t have the duplicate option.
