Epson printer (PHOTO R220) utility not working after recent update to printer software. iMac using OS 10.5.8. How can I tell what ink cartridge is low?
How can I get this utilty to work - printer is working fine?

What happens when you click on the EPSON Printer Utility which should be inside the Utility folder? Have you tried repairing permissions and restarting your computer? Have you read Epson's user manual and/or contacted their tech support?
I also have the R220 model. Besides using their drivers, I also use the Gimp drivers: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php

If you cannot get the utility to work, you may want to try the printer's control panel. The positions of low or empty cartridges should be indicated if you (repeatedly) press the ink button.
