Q: Cannot activate iMessage

I have tried every single thing in this thread but no luck. Help?!

Thanks, I replaced the comma thinking it was a typo lol.  Once I put the comma in it worked perfect

I've got the comma in though and still nothing.

Ok, I called Apple and they told me to reset the iPad and download the current OS again, restarting the iPad as a 'new' device. I did that and it worked! So people still having problems after trying everything else should reset the whole iPad.

Got it to work , make sure your time zone is correct and then it all worked both face time and imessage , thanks

@Agree519: Your solution worked perfectly for me. I had turned Facetime off in "Restrictions" area; re-enabled it and iMessages signed in just fine. When I disabled Facetime, iMessages again asked me to sign in, and then told me to check my network. I believe you are correct that the two are connected. Thanks for your help!

The 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4. worked for me. Make sure to put a , after the fourth 8!!

This worked! Wow. I would NEVER have been able to figure that out. What is the cause? Is it a glitch within Apple or is it a glitch in certain routers and home networks?

Just noticed another thing.

I was having the same problem with iMessage. So I went to Settings->General->Restrictions

Noticed that Camera and Facetime Apps were set to OFF inside the Allow section. I re-enabled them and came back to check iMessage and voila! it started working.

Apparently turning of camera/facetime disable iMessage but doesn't show that in the restrictions section.

Can Someone please update this!!! Facetime being linked in the code on the iOS5 operating system is driving me nuts! I want to be able to text on iMessage, but im restricted from Facetime, and can not acsess it due to parents disagrement. I can have iMessage, but not facetime. There needs to be an update that fixes the two being linked. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Does not work. It keeps putting a space after the comma. Even after backspaceing a lot.

I have a 3gs on iOS 5.0.1   I have tried EVERY SINGLE THING (apart from facetime as 3gs doesn't have one) suggested in this thread, and have done it correctly more than once. NOTHING WORKED!  The apple's "solution" about redownloading the iOS again and start a new iPhone, is a joke. I don't want to restore again and i definitely don't want to start a new iPhone all over again, losing my 25Gb content.
