delete apps from purchase history
I need a way of deleting apps off my purchase history! I have downloaded so many crappy free apps and I don't need them there anymore.
Is there a way?
Is apple going to offer this service?- I hope so!

I second this request, and will do my best to add my opinion to EVERY post about being able to permanently and totally delete objects from my purchase history.
Crappy free apps that I will NEVER reinstall on any device.
Time-bombed paid apps that I will NEVER reinstall on any device - like all older versions of MLB.com at Bat.
*** apple? Give me control of my devices and my purchases!
Stuart, could not agree more. This should have been thought of in advance of a forced beta on the users. Not cool. This needs to be a new feature released yesterday....not cool!
Yup, totally agree.
I doubt that delete it from the previously purchased list though, will it?
No it won't. This is a prOblem because explicit content can be seen by my children in my purchase history with the new cloud update.
Note: I think this is a pretty dumb way to organize this, unless I am doing something wrong. To find out apps you have deleted you have to go to your iPod app tab and see which apps are unchecked and then delete them from the above app tab to truly delete them.
Maybe this is a safety feature but to me it seems more likely that you will accidentally delete the wrong app with all this going back and forth. I have several apps that are very similar.

In the old iTunes you had to log into the account to see this history. Interesting.
Agreed with this request. I have had to download a lot of bad apps for research and don't want to see them in a history.
This definitely needs to be added, even if the deletion was user sided only, and Apple kept an actual record of downloaded apps for whatever purpose that may serve.
They could easily either:
1) Add a filter to remove items you select from displaying in Purchase History (but keep the actual records in case you install it again, so you don't have to pay for ir), or
2) (BETTER), Allow you to REMOVE and PERMANENTLY DELETE purchase records from Purchase History. The caveat would be that if you wanted to install the app again, there is no record of you having ever installed it, so you have to buy it again (no big deal).
Some history needs to REMAIN in the past.
yes we need a way to delete the purchase history thats a privacy issue
I found one way to not display your previous purchases. Sign out of your iTunes Account while while in iTunes. Signing in would then be required to see previous purchases.
Whoops! That doesn't work either. iTunes is accessing your account without your having to sign in. Yikes. This seems more than a little glitchy. Welcome to Beta testing.
Totally agree. I have been thinking of getting my daughter a iPod touch, and would link it to our account so I could monitor purchases, but at the same time want to remove some previous apps from the new cloud purchase list so she can't download......this has me second guessing whether I should buy her an apple product. They need a way to permanently remove an item from purchase history or give an option via itune on a pc to "block this app from cloud downloads" or something like that
I cant agree more its privacy issue and need to be solved immediately by apple
