Does anyone have an idea of the implications of Lion on Podcast Producer? Initially, information on the Apple website seems vague on whether PCP will be included/integrated with Lion Server. It seems odd to think that support would disappear, but I finding mixed thoughts on how PCP will look in Lion. Is anyone out there testing a beta version of Lion?

Can someone from Apple speak to this? The link to the technical specs for Lion Server seems to indicate that PcP 2 is included, though I'm it's confusing to read about "Podcast Publisher" and find nothing on Podcast Producer.
I just installed Lion. I can see where I can connect to a 'Remote Workflow' but it appears the podcast producer is not installed. How do we create workflows now?

I've heard two different Apple reps explained to me that it is still installed but is not accessible via the Server Admin app that's part of Lion. You need to install the latest version of the Server Admin Tools in addition, which is only available from Apple's website as a stand alone package. These should provide access to all the features not servicable in the new admin tool, including Podcast Producer. Admittedly I have not seen this personally myself, but it's worth a looksee.

I got from Apple Enterprise that there are 2 different apps - Podcast (as in Server App) and Podcast Producer (which is the legacy app from Snow Leopard Server). Podcast Publisher in Lion works with Podcast and integrates into the Lion Wikis. Podcast doesn't require Xgrid to run as where PCP did. You can still use the workflows from PCP in Podcast. PCP is in there and we had it running, but opted to go with the new Podcast app.
It's very confusing and not clear at ALL in the Advanced Server Admin manual, but we're finding that the new Podcast app seems to be more user friendly via Podcast Publisher. In addition, being able to have non-IT people manage the podcasts via the GUI (wikis) as opposed to the CLI pcast commands to edit the feeds is a plus in our environment.
With your error message above, your DNS setting are all good for your server?

I'm also in a similar situation.
Had another look today and fixed the "Error: unable to resolve any IP address to a DNS host"
It's literally what it says it is so;
Using Terminal:
sudo /private/etc/hosts
Add an entry for the server you're using and save.
Retstart the Podcast Prodcuer service and it should start up no problem now.
If you manage your own DNS you may also be able to just add a new DNS a-record for your server in there but I haven't tried this because my solution above was all I needed.

HOW TO INSTALL PODCAST PRODUCER ON A LION SERVER
My thougts exactly were why did I upgrade. But now I have found that the podcast server app comes within server admin tool. We downloaded 10.7.4
After installing Lion Server you have to download Server Admin Tools.
Go to Server Admin Tools, your server, settings and select
- xgrid
- podcast producer
- open directory
Go to open directory. configure it as a master.
Go to xgrid enable it.
Go to Podcast Producer, configure it with the express option.
