Try resetting the iPod:

Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home

button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

-Try restoring the iPod via iTunes on your computer.

- If iTunes does not see your iPod try placing the iPod in recovery mode. For recovery mode see:

okay, so my ipod screen is white.

i tried to hold the two buttons down for like 5 minutes.

plugging it into my computer (which didn't amount to anything because the computer didn't even pick up that it was connected to my ipod)

and coming on here to find any way to fix this.

ok apple.... ok. i guess i'll just wait til the battery dies.

this is stupid.
