Try rebooting the iPod by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.
Try here:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
However, the page may be down for maintenance.
Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
-Try restoring the iPod via iTunes on your computer.
- If iTunes does not see your iPod try placing the iPod in recovery mode. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
if page down. it may be here:
I have tried those steps and the screen is still white --
any more ideas
thanks
not sure how we did it but my daughters did the same thing and I went through all the resetting steps and got nowhere. We had a busy weekend so we left it unplugged and let it run down and then put it on a docking charger and after a full 24 hours of being docked and fully charged it started working again on its own.
just let the battery wear down. then try.
okay, so my ipod screen is white.
i tried to hold the two buttons down for like 5 minutes.
plugging it into my computer (which didn't amount to anything because the computer didn't even pick up that it was connected to my ipod)
and coming on here to find any way to fix this.
ok apple.... ok. i guess i'll just wait til the battery dies.
this is stupid.
how can i fixed a crack screen ipod with the brightness low
You should buy a new digitalizer for your ipod, if there are damaged pixels then you might want to also buy a new screen. Dont know about screen brightness though.
