Im looking through these Macs as refurb's. What' the difference between these processor's and which do you think is the best deal and why?

It is not just the speed of the memory. A Core 2 duo and an i5 series chip is completely different achetecture. You can't even compare the Ghz speeds. Then there are the different chipsets that are on the mainboard... There are MANY things that are a part of system performance.


Look around on google for a benchmark between the two models you are looking at. See how they stand up to each other.
