Still wondering if "included" actually means "free" or just "packaged with", though. I haven't been able to find anything truly specific and definitive from Apple. Some people really believe it's going to be free of charge though. That would be truly remarkable.

Have we had an update on this? The link says you can 'access' an xsan with lion. Can you control it? I see that apple is still selling xsan. Is that for administration and metadata controllers?

That doc should answer everything for you but long story short, you need to use Lion Server on your metadata controllers and just use Lion client for your workstations.
