Linking 2 Accounts

My wife and I have seperate iTunes accounts on seperate computers. We use the same credit card for purchases in the AppStore, specifically for out iPhone 4's. My question is, can we link these accounts so purchases she makes can be downloaded by me as well but at no charge, becacuse she has already paid for it. Example, she downloaded the Couch to 5K app for her iPhone. I want this on my iPhone but I don't think I should have to pay for it again. We live together and use the same credit card, I shouldn't have to pay again. Any help is appreciated.

iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.2

Hi,

I once had a lengthy (but very friendly) e-mail exchange with Apple Support when I wanted to merge two iTunes accounts that I had using the same credit card, address, etc. - similar to your situation.

I was told by Apple Support that this was not possible; it was also not possible to transfer purchases from one account to another.

Alphasig, That is asked often here, but the answer, as Strawberrymac notes, is always no.

Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently labeled with the account from which it was originally purchased, and that label is used for DRM authorization if required. Also, Apple is not interested in policing requests like "transfer all alphasig's content into xyz account," and with good reason. Sorry.

what you can do is activate her itunes account on your ituneslibrary (on your mac/pc) and your itunes account on her . then activate personel filesharing on itunes. now you can copy her purcased content via itunes to your itunes library and sync them on your iphone, and so can she.

you can use an itunes account on up to 5 itunes librarys and on as much ios devices you own.
