I would like to get more information on how Disk Maintenance will work. I am assuming no dvd disk, so are there new features to allow for Disk Maintenance, where we used to have to boot to our OS disk and run disk utilities?

I do not see what I am looking for there. A restore is one thing, doing disk maintenance is another. Today to repair the drive, you have to boot to a disk. I did not see anything on that page that has to do with maintenance? Did I miss something??

I think you'll have to wait for specifics once Lion is available. However, Disk Utility is a standard Apple maintenance utility. It's always good practice to create an external disk with MacOS installed just-in-case.
From that page:
"OS X Lion includes a built-in restore partition, allowing you to repair or reinstall OS X without the need for discs."
Details beyond that will need to wait until Apple releases further information.
