Proxy settings not 'sticking'

At work we run a secure wifi network, and I've successfully configured my iPad to use it. However, when I attempt to enter proxy settings, the settings do not "stick". That is, after I leave the proxy configuration window, the setting defaults to off (no proxy method chosen).

This is the case whether I use manual or automatic proxy settings.

So I can access any internal network resource, but in order to browse an internet site I need to turn on 3G.

I have reset the network settings, and re-booted the iPad 2. The version of iOS is up to date.

Has anyone else encountered this, and does anyone have a solution?

When I ran into that we found if you hit the "minimize" on the soft keyboard ( lower right corner) it would make the setting stick. Hope it works for you, too.

The solution I found is this: delete the profile I had installed for my wi-fi configuration, and re-build the configuration manually. It worked, so there must have been an error in the iPhone Congig Utility payload.

This solution works. I went to my IT department, removed the profile, manually added the network and proxy settings and now the setting stick.

I tried that and it still didnt work. I have manually entered the proxy data and network settings

We have the same problem with our IPads. When we configure the proxy settings, it just not save them. Credentials are there but not working. When safari starts, it ask the credentials of our proxy server. browsing is possible then. But if you start safari again it asked for the proxy credentials .

Both solutions above are not working, IOS is updated yesterday.
