Is there a method of creating field spaces within a text area

Is there a method of creating field spaces within a text area can be filled from other data? If you were writing a contract, for example, one variable could be a name field which would be updated throughout the entire document.

Ideally, I'd like to design a questionnaire and have the answers to the results from the questionnaire appear throughout the a written proposal. This is a proposal that I will use over and over with many clients, but every client's answers will be unique.

Is something like this possible in pages, numbers, or another application that I'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance.
