safari google search toolbar
After installing latest security update, now my google search toolbar won't display any suggestions.
If I change the search engine to Bing or Yahoo!, then the suggestion works.
Any idea?

Hello,
Same here since today... So i guess it's something to do with google itself.
It already happened in the past (check some thread here, mentioning this already back in august 2010, and it came back after a while)
Bing and Yahoo! are indeed working in the meantime.
Very strange, but not much we can do I guess!

Hi,
Yes after the update same has happened to me.
Contacted Apple Care and they say they are going to look into it.
If more people notify Apple about this update problem perhaps it may get things rolling for a solution

Same problem here. I had updated to the Safari 5.1 Developer Preview, which I thought was the culprit, but after downgrading, reinstalling OS X 10.6.7 and Safari 5.0.5, and trashing all of Safari files, the Google Search Suggestions continue to be broken.

Ditto. Started after installing the Security Update 2011-003 today.
Same problem here.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset. Quit then relaunch Safari. Try Google.
Tried that earlier and Reset Safari once again, Google’s Search Suggestions from the browser search field are not working. Yahoo and Bing work fine, but not Google.
Tried that Carolyn, but no joy

Same problem on Tiger as well as Snow Leopard. So must be a bigger thing than a version issue.
Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file. Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Launch Safari. Try Google. If it still doesn't work, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder.
I'm having the same problem...any quick fixes?
thanks!
I gave this a try and still no luck. Both Yahoo and Bing continue to work, while Google search remains impacted.
I have the same issue on all my computers.I have both 10.5 and 10.6.
This is obviously a apple issue hope they don't taker to long
This is really annoying. Got the same issue and been working on it for 2 hours now. No success. Does anyone from Apple read our issues at all?
I just noticed this last night, too, and the problem is still there. It happens on my machine, running 10.6, and my girlfriend’s machine, which runs 10.5. Both have had Safari 5.0.5 for quite some time. I don’t even think that Security Update 2011-003 is available on 10.5, so that can’t be the problem. Suggestions still work on my iPhone and iPad.
