I'm running Mail 4.5 (1084) in the latest version of Snow Leopard.
I can create a new Note, but it's doesn't save. It just vanishes.
My old notes are there, and I can make changes to those and it syncs fine.
I'm creating notes in my MobileMe account.
Any ideas what might have happened?

Same problem here. New Note created. But there is no way to save it or hit a "Done" button or anything except email it to myself. It never shows up in my notes on Mac Mail. If I close the Note, it's just gone. Any Help out there? I just got a new Macbook Pro when Lion came out.
I solved the issue. In Mail go to Preferences > Composing and make sure that "Create notes and todos in:" indicates your primary mail account.
