If my iphone is off can i still track it by using find my iphone ?
i have lost my phone yesterday night. if someone took it n off my phone can i still track the location with find my iphone ?

No. In order to track the device with find-my-iPhone, you have to have the feature enabled on the device, the device MUST be on, and it must have a data connection (either wifi ro 3G, but it needs some way to send it's location data back to the mobileme servers to display on the map, not to mention to respond to the mobileme server quiery when you ask it to locate your device).
It would be impossible to make a purely software tracking feature work if the device it runs on is powered off.
Also, if someone resets the iPhone as new, the tracking settings are wiped out and it can no longer be tracked.
