I'm about to buy a new Macbook Pro 15" with a 2.3GHz i7 Processor and a Hi-Res Glossy Display. I've been told that the hi-res displays have a silver border around the screen compared to the black border on the normal displays, is this the case for the specs I listed?

Yes Hi-Res Glossy Display by default is a silver bezel.

Just to add on leroy's notes
High-res glossy = black bezel
High-res antiglare = silver
I personally am all about a clean laptop screen, meaning I swat people's hands when they try to touch the screen to point at stuff.
Silver = a harder to clean screen but viewable in all sorts of lighting.
Black = protective glass but the trade-off is a highly reflective screen when light is behind you.
Thanks I misread the glossy part.
Correct The antiglare display has a silver frame (border) around the display.
I too like the glass edge to edge, much easier to clean and for this reason would not want a bezel at any color !
