Itunes Error 7 (Windows error 14001)

User uploaded file

I've been getting this error for about three weeks now. It just happened out of the blue at the same time that a bunch of other programs started giving side-by-side configuration errors (like Word and Photoshop). I've searched for solutions to this on this forum and on other websites, but none have produced a good result.

When I tried to reinstall or repair the set up of Itunes or Apple Mobile Device, it gives me an error that says I do not have enough privelges to install it and asks for me to retry, ignore, or abort.

If it also helps, Apple Mobile Device does not start in Services. It gives me the following error -

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

edit: I've tried to do a completely clean install multiple times and it still produces these same messages.

Well, I unistalled Itunes, Quicktime, and all the other programs that came with it and there were no files left behind in C:/Program Files or C:/Windows.

Upon reinstallation, I still get the same error message:

Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privelges to start system services.

I have been wrestling with this for two days now with no luck.

The whole thing started after I completed updates on my computer on the 16th.

One thing I am noticing is that my computer is continually trying to update the following and it never seems to take.

"Security update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Servie Pack 1 Redistributable Package KB2538242 2.6 MB"

I have noticed that in the update section it says it has installe correctly but it still list it as an important update.

I looked at my installed updates and this update shows as being installed like 12 time.

Not sure if this will help but it sure looks suspicious.

Just wish I knew what to do from here.

ok. i finally fixed it. i have been searching and googling answers and i finally did a combination of things. first thing i did was go to revo uninstall. i downloaded the premium version. you get a 30 day free trial. i uninstalled everything with this program. when it asked me to search and scan the files, i did the advanced scan on everything. it really removed everything. then i went to windows update and i made sure i had the latest drivers or whatever. next on the revo uninstall, i did something that is call evidence remover. it totally deleted EVERYTHING i had ever sent to the recycle bin and thought i had deleted. it took a whole day to get rid of everything. i restarted my computer. then i went and downloaded itunes again, and that time everything worked. i just wanted to update my journey for everyon. good luck to you.
