How can I change my MAC Address?

I've tried everything. I've used scselect -n, which is not even a command, I've used sudo ifconfig en1 ether "mac address here", I've dislocated from all networks but left AirPort on, and for no apparent reason, every time I change my mac address, It says "Connection Timeout". No the router does not have a whitelist, no the router does not have a blacklist. Is there any hack/exploit/cheat/whatever you call it to bypass 10.6.7 mac address spoofing security? I've even used so-called python scripts that work even on 10.6.7, but even those don't work. Please help, it's my first question and most likely my last. Thanks in advance.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7), Has Windows 7 Ultimate on Bootcamp.
