Can anyone please say what is the correct format for importing movies into itunes.
I have some movies that are .vob files - do they need formatting into some
other format first.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 500 GB ext.H/D
i believe the videos need to be in these formats:
.mp4, .mov, .m4v

I would use mp4, but mp4 has no real difference between m4v
and yes it will play on your apple tv
.mov works fine too, i just prefer mp4

yes, i think most current DVD players are able to play mp4 files
make sure you check the user manual for whatever DVD player you have- it should contain supported file formats!
I use .mp4 format, (for my ripped movies),but does anyone have an issue with sound? My movies I rip are dolby digital,etc, yet when I play them thru Apple Tv (3rd generation) I only get stereo. Is there any correction to this or do I need to upgrade to AppleTV 4? Thanks

I am confused, because I bought Central Intelligence from the iTunes Store, and when I looked at the file, it said Central Intelligence.mov. Which doesn't play on my player on Windows 10.
