Selling the ipad I use daily

I am selling my ipad thatI use daily. I don't want to delete/wipe my data until the last minute.

Can I delete my data using any PC or Mac as long as I sign into my own iTunes account or must I be on my Mac to do this?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Why not just do it on the iPad?

Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings

I understood that method to be less secure than actually synching with computer. Am I misinformed?
