Waverburner and normalized audio

When you normalize a region in Waveburner, does it get automatically saved? In other words, is normalizing a destructive process in Waveburner, or just a temporary process?

I know you have to use 'bounce project' to save all processing etc but sometimes I need to save before I have completely finished mastering the project. I like to save it as a wb file so that I can continue from where I left off. But do I need to normalize each region again when I re-open?

Thanks
