This have happend to me once and I do know how to fix it here's how...>>>

To fix this is really easy ... What you might have been done is change the time,, so you need to get the time to how it is ... You go to general then date and time then there's a button that says off ,, you need to turn it on .. Then restart your iPad by holding on to the off button then open it again ... Then it will work.... If it doesn't happen .. This might be that you have been jail broken .. Good luck. :)

Error 1004: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:

  1. Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
  2. Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to default on Windows. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
  3. Try to update from another known-good computer and network.
  4. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

If you're jailbroken and you have the User Agent Faker installed, then look no further, a recent update to it causes this.

Just uninstall it for now, reboot and it should work. I also had to sign out of my App Store account, reboot and sign back in, and voilà... I'm back on track.

I have spent about 8 hours since yesterday trying everything I could find, but hadn't come across the User Agent Faker problem until now. I was almost ready to renounce technology and move to Alaska.

If this still doesn't work, try all the other suggestions such as clearing cache, cookies and history from Safari and making sure your credit card info in the App Store is up to date.
