bluetooth connection between ipad and iphone

I have the ipad2 wifi, and iphone 3gs and can's seem to make them "see" each other. Is there a way to connect the two together? I wanted to transfer pictures from the phone to the pad without going through attaching each image to an email. That would be a pain. Thanks for any help.

If you have the iPad's camera connection kit then you can use that to transfer from the iPhone to the iPad (from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4101 : 'In addition to supporting digital cameras and SD cards, you can also import photos and videos from your iPhone*, iPod touch, and iPod nano (5th generation) using the Camera Connector.').

There are also apps that say that they can transfer photos via wifi between devices e.g. Simple Transfer (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/simple-transfer/id411292121?mt=8), which also has a free 'lite' version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/simple-photo-video-transfer/id420821506?mt=8)
