Refurbished Apple Cinema HD Display

Hi all,

I have a Mac Pro 3,1 version with a ATI Radeon HD2600 XT video card.

Now I see in the apple show this product: "Refurbished Apple Cinema HD Displa (30-inch flat panel w/ aluminum enclosure).

My question is: Is it possible to connect this monitor to my Mac Pro. Because they told me in the apple store that the new Apple 27 inch monitor will not fit on my Mac with his resoltion.

I hope you can help me with an usefull answer.

Thnx,

Nick

You are asking your questions inside out and backwards.

Do you wnat the 27 Inch cinema display in the store?

• YES it can work with your current display card, but you will need an expensive adapter to use it. This one:

ATLONA AT-DP400 Dual Link DVI to Mini Display Port Converter

• Or you could upgrade your display card to the 5770 and just plug the Display in. (It uses Mini DisplayPort.)

Why don't the Apple store employees know that? Because they are only trained on what is for sale in the store right now.

The used 30 inch display has a Dual-Link DVI port, which would work with almost all cards (including the 5770).
