I am trying to restore my PowerBook to it's original (first time user) way before I put it up for sale. When I attempt to restore it a window shows up with the following: "Type an administrator's name and password to make changes to install Mac OS X." Nothing works including my own passwords. Any suggestions out there?
If by "that" you mean "resetting the original administrator account password," then click on those words in my earlier post. They're a link, even though under the new Discussions format they're tough to see, they really are in "power blue," which is New Discussions hard-to-see format color for "link."
I rebooted the PowerBook (holding the "C" key down) and followed instructions for "resetting the original administrator account password" and it worked. I still had to set up some kind of password as it would not let me go on without it. But I left it easy to figure out for the next owner. MAHALO (thanks) for your help.
