Q: AVCHD & "ClipWrap" ...
Hi Folks,
using a trial version of ClipWrap (thanks for the referral!)
to import AVCHD from my Sony NEX-VG10.
I'm on an older Powerbook G4 laptop; not sure if that's an issue .. but ..
comparing some conversions I did in Clipwrap; the "Re-Wrapped" versions
remain the native 1920x1080 in size, about 1.5 times the size of the original.
This is understandable, because compression is still intact, just the "wrapper"
has changed. These converts don't play well on my system, either because
it's too old, too slow, or PPC based Mac's "don't like" AVCHD files.
Whatever.
The main issue is that the files converted with ClipWrap's AIC compression
(which offers no tweaking or settings), change the size of the video from
1920x1080 to 1440x1080, which is not in the same aspect ratio.
can anyone comment on this? is there an alternative to Clipwrap
that might perform better?
thanks!
