Moving from Blackberry to iPhone...

I'm going to upgrade from a Blackberry to an iPhone, and would like to know the easiest way to transfer my contacts and a few photos to the iPhone. I see on my BB on the menu for my phone book an option that says "SIM Phone Book." Does this put all my contacts on the SiM card, and then when I move the SIM card to the iPhone, all my contacts will be there?

I have a multimedia card in the BB; will this be compatible with the iphone, so that my photos can be on the iphone?

I'm not very tech savvy, and hope there's a very simple way to do this.

Thanks!

You can import contacts from a SIM card to the iphone.

Does your Blackberry not sync contacts with your computer? If so, then you can sync your computers contacts to your iphone.

The iphone does not use a multimedia card at all.

Your photos need to be on your computer. From there you can sync them to iphone.

Put everything on your computer. From there you can sync it all to iphone.

When you get your iPhone, it will require teh use of a micro-SIM. More than likely your Blackberry uses the more common mini-SIM (often just called a SIM). If you save your contacts to the SIM in the Blackberry, that SIM most likely will not fit into the iPhone 4, so that won't help much. When my wife bought her iPhone 4 at an Apple Store, the clerk brought out a device to copy the contacts from her old phone/SIM onto her new iPhone 4. This might work for you to copy your contacts over. Other than that, syncing them to your PC or to a cloud service like Google are your best options.

The standard iPhone does not suport MultiMedia Cards (MMC) or SD cards. I have been playing with an iPhone add-on that allows you to copy pictures from an SD or MMC card onto your iPhone. This little device plugs into the dock connector on your iPhone (or iPod Touch or iPad) and accepts an SD or MMC card. Using their proprietary app, you can then copy contents to your iPhone from the memory card. I use the device for going the opposite direction more though to copy data from my iPhone onto an SD card for use n another device. This devce is the PNY "zoomit" and can be purchased for about $40 USD at Amazon. Without this device, your only home is syncing through your home PC. I am not aware of any other app that lets you copy media conent to your iPhone

Hi there.......there is a simpler and much much easier way to do this (and not a lot of ppl are aware of this either).

I have just upgraded my package with O2 from my blackberry onto a new iPhone 5. The first question that hit me is 'how do I transfer all the sim contacts from my blackberry onto my new I-phone ???'

The answer is easy.... Download an app called ( INTOUCH ) onto your blackberry. When you open the app it takes a second to create a user account that is unique to yourself. once you open the app you can then sync all your current sim contacts onto there web server. then download the same app on your new phone (i.e iphone) which you can get on the app store for free. load the app up on your new phone then you can pull all your contacts down to your iphone and thats it ....it really is that simple!!

if you go onto google and type in INTOUCH app you will see the results that come up there. for blackberry users it can be downloaded on bb app world.

as far as im aware the app works on majority of devices, and the beauty is that once you've created an account, any handset you have wit he app installed on it, will automatically and simultaneously update the, selves on each phone with contacts you have either deleted or added etc..

To move contacts from Brackerry to iPhone:

- Connect your old Phone to iTunes on your PC/Mac and sync - In the Info menu, ensure your contacts are set to sync

- In the iTunes device list: Right click on your iPhone and select 'Backup' from the context menu allow the backup to complete.

- Connect your new iPhone to iTunes (on the same computer you used to back up your current iPhone)

- iTunes will ask you if you want to 'Restore from a backup' or set up your new iPhone as a new phone.

- Select 'Restore from a backup' - Choose the most recent backup of your current iPhone (if prompted)

- Sync your new iPhone to receive the backup information and your contacts.

Move contacts from BlackBerry to iPhone, you should:

1) Plug in Blackberry to computer

2) Run Blackberry desktop software

3) Choose which software to sync contacts with (Outlook, Address Book etc...)

4) Sync Blackberry to that software

5) Unplug Blackberry

6) Plug in iPhone....make sure that auto sync is turned off...

7) Check sync contacts...use same program

8) Sync iPhone..

9) iPhone will ask if you want to merge or replace data...select merge

Or do what one of my customers did yesterday..She said she just went to the AT&T store with both phones and they did it for her..I also beleive they are doing this at Genius Bars too...but not sure.

I tried using the second method to transfer my BB Bold contacts to my iPhone 5, however, Gmail does no longer support Exchange so it did not work out.

I did not use the first method since I'd rather keep away my iPhone from that monster iTunes. I ended up using the BB Desktop Software and then these quick directions (http://www.copytrans.net/suppo... ) in order to transfer my complete blackberry contact list to my new iPhone 5

Now, you can use Move to iOS app, which is the official data transfer app released by apple. It's much easier than the method you mentioned.
