Q: Macbook Pro 13" and Logic!

Hello,

I am planning to buy the 2011 macbook pro 13 with i5 processor in july 2011 when it comes with the latest OSX Lion. so my question is will I be able to use the latest Logic express or Logic studio software properly and smoothly without any problem? is this configuration enough or will it be slow to run the logic express or logic studio?

I am new to the mac world and will be buying my first mac ever and also new to logic.

is the 2011 macbook 13" with i5 dual core sufficient enough or 15" i7 quad core is required?

your help will be greatly appreaciated. thank you.

    Hi

Noone can say how Logic 9.1.4 and Mainstage 2 will perform under OSX Lion as it hasn't been released yet. It's also difficult to tell you whether this configuration will suit your needs as you don't mention how needs for live performance.

Generally speaking, Mainstage and Logic run very well for me on OSX 10.6.7 on a 15" i7 MBP. I think the Quad core helps a lot, having said that a second machine I have is the C2Duo early 2008 MBP which handles Mainstage 2 pretty well too.

You may find screen size to be an issue and if your budget can stretch I'd always recommend the i7 quad over the i5 dual core.

    Hope that helps

    R
