airport extreme blinking amber

Okay.. so i've had airport extreme for over a year and a half. It's worked 95% well the entire time. Last night I get home and my internet isnt working. The amber light is flashing and it says it's because of an internet connection problem..... i called my service provider blah blah.. long story short my ethernet cord is plugged into my computer, so i KNOW my internet is fine... whenever i do the diagnostics on airport extreme it says something about how it has a self assigned IP address and can't connect... how can i fix my problem?? (the power recycle and whatever hasnt worked)
