IPAD 1 64GB WIFI AND 3G

Hi,

why will my ipad 1 not show up in itunes when I connect to my Mac desktop. I have the latest version of Itunes 10.3.1 loaded? I bought this Ipad in January 2011 and was working fine up until now. Does not want to re-boot. It is totally frozen. Can this be fixed or must it be replaced?
