I found an ipad in a blue Timbuk2 messenger bag at a Rockville, MD. movie theatre on June 12, 2011. How can I find the owner? Apple took down the serial number but will not give me the owner's name (although they know it) and will not contact the owner with my contact information.

Contact the movie theater and tell them to pass your contact info to anyone asking about a lost iPad. Don't give them the serial number. Let the caller tell you what it is.

Should you not take it to the police station? It may have been reported for insurance purposes.
