Network connection says that the authenticating server failed

My airport is on and able to receive signal. It says that it is connected after I join and press connect for the 802.1x profile, it says that the authenticating server failed. The wifi works for everyone else in the house, and the ethernet works for me, so neither of those are the cause. I also spoke with the cable company to manually adjust the IP, router, and DNS fields.
