Feb 7, 2013 10:51 AM in response to avidgirlby Woubbie,I just got Windows 7 on my work computer. iTunes worked yesterday, but not today.
I got the APPCRASH message also, and it was in the Quicktime module. Trouble is, yesterday when I tried to do the Apple updates, Quicktime was on the list for an update but I was unable to even get it to download. (I probably have older version/s floating around; my new comp was re-imaged from my old one.)
I actually got iTunes to work today by INSTALLING Quicktime. I had to get it from Filehippo.com instead of Apple to make sure I got the complete app. Worth a try, folks.
I do find it very depressing that no "super-poster" has cleaned up this sad, sad thread with a list of possible fixes for everyone.

Feb 11, 2013 4:21 AM in response to avidgirlby Dnzkdgn,Uninstall the quicktime of apple and the problem is solved.
-
Feb 11, 2013 4:51 AM in response to Dnzkdgnby Woubbie,OK. Maybe I wasn't clear. In my case, I could NOT uninstall Quicktime because the most current version wasn't installed to begin with, and was, in fact, uninstallable. (Apple update failed.) That's why I had to first INSTALL Quicktime from someplace other than Apple. Once the correct, current Quicktime version was installed iTunes worked again.
I used Filehippo.com to get the current Quicktime version.

Feb 25, 2013 3:36 AM in response to avidgirlby rfue,iTunes 11.0.2. will not play any video (from store or iTunes U) and crashes withot error. Win7 64 bit says:
Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: iTunes.exe, Version: 11.0.2.26, Zeitstempel: 0x51253247
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: QuickTime.qts, Version: 7.73.80.64, Zeitstempel: 0x50890e53

So Quicktime may be the reason, but uninstalling is not the solution because it is needed for playing video files...

Apr 25, 2013 12:00 AM in response to Dashkaby Isaac Marlow,I posted this last December in the Apple Support Communities.
I have downgraded to iTunes v 10.7.0.21 (Windows 7 64 bit) as a workaround. I can now connect to the iTunes Store.
The download page for v 10.7.0.21 is http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1577.
iTunes Library.itl could not be opened, but this page has a solution that can be easily adapted for Windows:
http://www.askdavetaylor.com/fixing_itunes_libraryitl_cannot_be_read_newer_versi on_of_itunes.html
It seems several users have usability issues with iTunes 11 based on the comments in the discussion group, so I do not plan to "upgrade" iTunes for some time.
I tried recently with iTunes 11.0.2.26, but the issue recurs. An exception is thrown in WebKit.dll in Apple Application Support v 2.3.3. Apple QA should resolve this.

Apr 26, 2013 7:36 PM in response to caggabaoby MikeTheObliviousGenius,Not only to you, but to many it is as simple as removing the QuicktimePlayer, but for some such as myself I did not have it. I installed it and solved the problem. It must depend on your operating system. So check to see if you have QuicktimePlayer and follow through with removing or installing.

Apr 27, 2013 6:33 AM in response to MikeTheObliviousGeniusby Isaac Marlow,Your suggestion does not work for me, but thanks anyway. As stated, I am running a 64-bit version of Windows 7.
An upgrade for iTunes should just involve downloading the latest version and installing it. You should not have to change QuickTime or other software.
Just as a test, I uninstalled the following manually and rebooted: Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour and iTunes. QuickTime was not installed.
iTunes 11.0.2.26 was installed and the iTunes store could not be reached. QuickTime 7.7.3 was installed and again iTunes stopped working when trying to load the iTunes store. The procedure above was followed to downgrade to iTunes 10.7.0.21 and it works again as before.
The Event Viewer gives the following diagnostic messages

Apr 27, 2013 7:26 AM in response to avidgirlby Hannah75,Hello avidgirl,
I'm not going to lie. You've completely wasted your time.
Often those instructions on how to fix the problem are for the worst case scenerio. I'm guessing you've paniced and have been trying everything as soon as possible. This has most likely overwhelmed the system.
The system probably needs some time. The certain section of iTunes you were on may be under editting, you may have tried to download a very large file, or your computer (or iTunes) could just be acting funky. Dont worsen it by constantly doing things that will need for it to process or load. Just leave it for two days or so then log back on normally. Hopefully it will have fixed itself.
If you are desperate and need to use iTunes now then try to use a friend's account or make a new account for now. If the new account doesn't work then there is something wrong with your computer, not iTunes. Under this circumstance, call in a local professional. He will most likely only be their for a few minutes; the problem is usually a lot less of deal then we make it out to be.
Good Luck! Hope I helped.

Aug 16, 2013 2:43 AM in response to Isaac Marlowby Isaac Marlow,I have finally resolved this. The issue was with my version of Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit.
The solution was a "repair install" or "upgrading" the operating system to the same version from the installation DVD. Instructions for doing this are on the sitehttp://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html.
Apple iTunes Store Customer Support and the Apple Support Team provided friendly assistance. Diagnostics tests and files sent showed nothing was obviously wrong except there was an exception thrown by WebKit.dll in Apple Application Support. I knew this already. They said there was a Microsoft certificates corruption issue and should reinstall the whole system.
I ran sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt (run as Administrator) several times and found two issues:
1. t2embed.dll could not be checked.
2. _isdel.exe was missing from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\InstallShield.
Issue 1 was probably caused by a workaround for the Duqu security vulnerability. User gn_id posted a solution for this on December 5, 2012 in this forum that involves running Microsoft Fixit 50793, please see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2639417.
Issue 2 was probably caused by Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It led to deleting _isdel.exe from its quarantine. In November 2012, the program gave false positive reports for the "Trojan.zbot" (http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=117549).
sfc /scannow reported the _isdel.exe was missing and it could not repair the member file. I copied the source version of _isdel.exe from the installation DVD to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\InstallShield after extracting it with 7-Zip FIle Manager, but there was no change with sfc /scannow and iTunes kept crashing when I tried to connect to the iTunes Store. I could still update podcasts and apps, and sync my iPod and iPhone.
Finally, I decided to do a repair install as a last resort, short of upgrading to Windows 8. This keeps existing user files. I took a backup first of all files. The system rebooted about four times and you it rebooted from the hard drive, not the DVD. After this, sfc /scannow worked and iTunes 11.0.4.4 could connect to the iTunes Store and display its contents.
I hope this is useful to others with a similar issue.

Sep 18, 2013 12:47 PM in response to Dashkaby tzfromza,To be frank, I believe Apple is worse than Microsoft when it comes to fixing bugs. It is their problem not Microsoft. The same applies to many other things.

Sep 22, 2013 3:58 PM in response to WizardEyesby joe-39,Hi Wizard,
This will work for you. Upgrade to the lastest version of itunes 11.1. Restart your pc. Then copy file QTMovieWin.dll from c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support
To: C:\program files(X86)\itunes folder
Please copy the file do not move it.
This will work for most of the problems on here.
