iPad dropped, now with red screen/background

I've had the original iPad for several months now, and it has been working fine. However, yesterday, the iPad was dropped (a couple of inches from the ground), and now the background screen is red. You can still see the icons and the iPad remains fully functional, except for the red discoloration in the background. For example, when you play a video, the letterbox is now red instead of black.

Has anyone experienced this before? I've synced it, but no effect. Don't want to try a full restore unless it's absolutely necessary. I've read on the net that it may be corrected over time?

First I dropped it and it wouldn't turn, finally got that resolved, then the coloring was bad, but thanks to you that issue is resolved also.

I firmly tapped my ipad 5 times on one kneecap and 5 times on the other. The wacky wavy lines and odd colors went away!! Back to totally normal!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why my ipad screen turned to be pinkish, but I try to slap it several times in the back, and it solved the problem....

I have same problem. After i read all your messages, i tryed too to "fix" it in the same way but no luck, actualy gers worse No more green, or red , just blu, black and lots of orange

thank you so much , I tried everything recommended but it did not work but when I did as you recommend (twist the iPad in a diagonal fashion) it worked ;-) my son is over the moon now.
