Why did ALL MY APPS get deleted when I synced my new iPad 2 ?

Hi,

Just put my new iPad 2 into my mac to re-charge it. Bad idea. I didn't have a chance to pull the

plug before all my apps was first copied to my Mac ( I think ) and then removed from my iPad.

Can anyone even try to come up with a reason that isn't even remotely close to insane to

why this is ?

I mean, syncing is a pain to start with, and it's just amazing how slow it is considering the USB

2.0 transfer speeds and the amount of data being transfered. And on top of that, who ever is in

charge of this piece of the puzzle came up with the brilliant idea to just assume that I don't want

a single app that I installed prior to connecting my iPad.

Steve, if you read this. Please fire the whole syncing team, and hire a team of drunk hummingbirds.

I'm pretty sure they will come up with something that works better, and makes more sense.

Re-charge? In iPad "speak" that refers to charging the battery. I think you mean, "restoring".

All you have to do is re sync your apps using iTunes. It's a straight forward simple process that shouldn't take long at all unless you

are you using a third party USB hub possibly?

Powering Apple and third party peripherals through USB

iCloud changes the whole syncing process...

Install iTunes 10.3... http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103

With 10.3 you can re download purchased apps.
