Audio Recording

I am not able to record from microphone via Audio line-in port. I tested same microphone on a PC laptop, HP Pavilion Zt 3000, Intel/Centrino, and it works fine there.

Am I missing something?

The audio line in on Macs is _not_ a microphone input, it only works with line level inputs that come from preamps, CD players, or stereo receivers. If you want to use an external microphone on a Mac you'll need some form of preamp to connect between the microphone and the line in on your Mac. PCs, however, often have separate microphone inputs.

Best solution is to go pick up a Griffin iMic (its usb) and plug your microphone into that. I get good audio from mine.

Are you sure that the input is selected and that a track is armed?
