Is mackeeper 911 legit?

Yep, MacKeeper is totally a legit app - visit its official website mackeeper.com to make sure in it. Besides, there are communities of the users of MacKeeper on Facebook and Twitter - so you can contact real people and ask them about their own experience with MacKeeper. ( http://www.facebook.com/MacKeeper, http://twitter.com/mackeeper)
Don't worry about leroydouglas's comment - take a look at this article from pcfixessupport.com (it tells how to remove the fake Mac Keeper - Mac Defender analogue that has nothing in common with the original app) - http://bit.ly/izdaxG
So MacKeeper offers 15 days full-functional trial that gives you an opportunity to test all the tools the app offers. And you'll be able to make sure MacKeeper works as advertised.

If you search through ALL of the Apple Community Forums you will ONLY find that "Sana_Paul" says that MacKeeper is a good program { App } NO ONE else does.
MacKeeper is a pain in terms of User Interface Guidelines for the mac and for Mac Guidelines for uninstalling applications.
1. Any 3rd party software what gets installed and runs on a mac on startup should be in the users startup pref pane and therefore easily beeing able to get removed by the user from this place.
Instead – MacKeeper is buried in the system and there is no easy way to uninstall on the first look.
I have had a lot of customers who installed and wanted to get rid of it and they cried for help.
Uninstalling is:
1. Removing the app from the application folder (which asks for an admin-password (first silly thing).
2. When it then is removed another "helper"-app is starting with a bloatware-screen of advertising (2nd silly thing)
3. Very little and small on this screen is a small text with "no, thanks...". (3rd silly thing)
4. When this "no thanks" is klicked, the app gets uninstalled...
I do not know if every root stuff they install is gone, but at least it is gone from the menubar and not bloating the user again.
I think: If your system is not broke, don`t fix it. The mac is a great piece of hard- and software, in 90 percent of use you are having a great toy/workpiece whatever, you don`t need apps riding on "get max performance out of your thing"... tss.
my 2 cents.
mackeeper 911 is a killer trojan and tricks you to get it. macdefender, macprotecter and macsecurity act as
rouge mac antiviruses then you get a warning message urging you to use mackeeper 911. there
are people foolish to download it and the people very foolish as to pay for it.
my advice:DON'T USE MACKEEPER 911!
Mackeeper is a Trojan Virus. I wouldn't download it just to be on the safe side. 🙂

No anti-malware software agrees with you, but your welcome to your own opinion. My only question is why you are replying to a two year old question about MacKeeper 911 which is no longer available?
Well like wise "Why are you replying to my comment?".
I comented because 1. I can 😝 and 2. There was a popup about it, and I googled a bit about the program. Soo I figured I would just share my "Opinion" with the rest. 😮
Did you mean that the post to which this link refers has been deleted from the server?

Is there a reason why you are resurrecting this thread that has been dead for two years?

Hello Allan 🙂
I don't come here too often but, whilst here making another post earlier, I looked through my old *Stuff* as Apple calls it!
When I first read MadMacs0's answer in 2011 I didn't twig what he meant but I had a sudden flash of inspiration this morning!
Was I correct in my suspicion that the message has been deleted? No biggie if you do not know!

(But you would download a trojan virus otherwise?)
Do your own homework, folks.
Anyone silly enough to use Apple Community Forums as the holy grail of accurate information regarding macs is probably also silly enough to take the above irresponsible remarks as well-researched. However, here's a short list of articles that proves you people are making noises through the wrong orifice.

–BTW: The program is alive and well and is marketed as both mackeeper and mackeeper lite. The 911 appelation is no longer used as far as I know. And I don't own mackeeper nor do I plan on installing it. But it is not a scam, is not malware, is legitimate security software sold in the App Store, is well-regarded, and if there's a stink hovering around mackeeper it's because of irresponsible tripe like this laying around way past its prime.
It cannot be found in MY App Store! 😮
Please send a screenshot and a link.

OUCH! Good aim, Hunterman. I gleaned the information from the site below without checking the link. It is dated May, '12. It points to the mackeeper911 package which has been rebranded, apparently, as mackeeper lite, but I don't see any sign of either in the App store at this point for whatever reason. I'll still stand by my statements regarding the legitimacy of this program, but nevertheless, my foot tastes like foot. Again, nice shot!

Thank you for your opinion on the matter, I will file it with the rest of them.
