Latest podcast episode (#8) isn't publishing iTunes store....

I can't seem to sort through how to debug the problem I'm having with publshing my most recent podcast.

A) The iTunes Side

1) My podcast feed is

feed://web.me.com/simpleromantic/Simple_Romantic/Podcast/rss.xml

2) My iTunes store show name is

"Unpolished Performances"

3) I first attempted to publish my most recent epsode (#8) on Thursday (june 9) of last week. After not seeing it show up when repeatedly checking the iTunes store for all new episodes, I republished from iWeb this last Saturday. Stil, the episode doesn't show up. It seems to me that in the past new episodes don't take 3+ days to appear. There must be something I'm not doing, or doing that I shouldn't be.

4) The episode appears when I look at the url associated with mobileMe - though I thought I should be able to click directly on something in that page and listen directly, and can't

.........

B) The iWeb Side

I wonder what I need to do so that people can listen (streaming) directly on the web, outside of the iTunes store. I've had a link up in my blog telling Readers that they can do that. And I THOUGHT I had tested that link in the past. But maybe I just saw images and descriptions come up and forgot to actually do that.

C) THe blogger side

My podcast is an extension of my blog (http://simpleromantic.blogspot.com). I promote the podcast in the blog. I also want to be able to have people listen directly from the blog in streaming mode, outside of iTunes downloading, if they want to do that. I actually broke down and bought a book about blogger, now that I've been using it for awhile, and it has directions for 'creating and publishng a podcast' (page 290 2009 Google Blogger for Dummies) To do this, however, I need to have a link directly to the podcast episode that actually works to test that! :-)

Right now I can't figure out what to look at to get started figuring out my problem, let alone adding in the streaming capability from my blog.

Thanks, once more, to this community. What would I do without you?

Part B of this posting: that I put up for readers to link to was also

http://web.me.com/simpleromantic/Simple_Romantic/Podcast/Podcast.html

An example is in the May5 blog entry for my art journal that promotes LAST month's podcast

Part A of this posting: Grammar? Syntax? Yes I agree I should eliminate the word 'with'! :-)

There will be a setting in iWeb to alter this - compare the settings with your previous episodes which aren't blocked.

Streaming as such has to be set up at the server and I'm afraid it's outside my experience. However if you drag the media files into iWeb I would expect it to provide playing of them from the individual episode pages - it's not literally streaming but comes to much the same thing as they play while downloading (at least in Safari).

Indeed Episode 7 does this perfeclly well:

Episode 8 doesn't, probably because you've blocked it.

Thank you (as always) Roger.

Now I know what the problem is.

I still can't find it in iWeb. I've searched all the Inspector tabs and as far as I can see I have clicked/checked the boxes that allow iTunes to read it. There are 2 that I find in the inspector. Can't find anything in a drop-down menu yet...

Still knowing what the problem is is a big step ahead.

QUESTION STILL where do you see the html that you included in your answer? I did a 'view source' on this link

http://web.me.com/simpleromantic/Simple_Romantic/Podcast/Podcast.html

but I don't find a '<block>' tag there. ....

So there is some mysterious url I don't know to look at. That might be really good for me to understand for the future! Maybe I'll be able to do a Roger-Wilmut and answer somebody's hard question when I know this.

I'm thinking if I don't find it soon.... I will just DELETE and REPUBLISH. That might resolve the problem or it might not.

You're looking at your podcast page: your feed is at

http://web.me.com/simpleromantic/Simple_Romantic/Podcast/rss.xml

User uploaded fileand you can open that in a browser and view the source code that way - or you might find it easier to control-clck (Mac) or right-click (Windows) and download the file, which you can open in a text editor. However there's no point in your trying to edit it, because anything you do will be overwritten by iWeb the next time you publish a new episode.

In order to unblock your episode: go to the Entries page in the sidebar, and in the main section click on that episode in the list to display it. CLick on the Inspector icon, then on RSS and check the checkbox where shown in the screenshot.
