Hooking iPod up to 2001 VW w/Monsoon- suggestions?

Hi.
I'd like to know what systems others are using to install their iPod in their car. I have already tried the interface from USA Spec and it's not working out so great, I'll be sending it back. It plugs right into the CD changer connection and the head unit is able to control and power the iPod good enough, but there is a soft noise coming from the tweeters that's very annoying. To be fair, I haven't read that anyone else has had this problems, but I suspect they may not be paying attention- the noise is easy to miss when the music is loud.
Anyway, an FM transmitter or tape adapter is not acceptable as I want the signal to be as clear as possible. Has anyone had success with anything else? Such as ice>Link, Blitzsafe, P.I.E., etc. Particularly in a VW with the Monsoon sound system.
Thanks!

I use the Blitz in my 2004 Golf TDI. It works fine, for what it does. Basically you just attach it in the back where the CD changer hookup would be and your deck thinks you have a changer. Mine reads Disc 99 all the time and you change songs on the iPod. No control from the deck.

It was fine while it was the only option, but I am going to replace the entire system with one of the new Alpine decks with the full speed iPod interface when they arrive in February. But the Blitz has served it's purpose well.
