Jun 14, 2011 11:17 AM in response to Wal City Isby a brody,Be sure you correctly identify which eMac it is:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86325 Then read:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106777to verify you get the correct airport card. Older eMacs that do not take the Extreme card can't connect to 802.11g, nor can they use anything more secure than the original WPA networking protocol, which isn't as secure as WPA2. The exception is adding an ethernet wireless bridge at the eMac that can connect to your existing 802.11g network.

Jun 14, 2011 11:27 AM in response to a brodyby Wal City Is,Ugggh. That "serial" article is the nugget I have been looking for. Apparently my eMac is older than I thought, even with the superdrive. It is an "eMac 2005". So it would seem based on your suggestion I need to make my eMac a wireless bridge. Would this mean checking on my Belkin router for brand specifics on how to do that or is this something that can be done with anything? I had not researched such an option.

Jun 14, 2011 11:36 AM in response to Wal City Isby a brody,2005 eMacs do support the Extreme card. Read it again, it says if it has USB 2, then it definitely supports the Extreme. If it has ATI graphics, it definitely has Extreme.
