m-audio firewire 410 issues

I originally had my 410 running on my PBG4 and it ran fine. I recently upgraded to a MBPro with 10.6.7. So, I updated the 410 driver for 10.6.7. I set it up in Logic and the audio/midi utilities as my input. However, when I run it with Logic I get a signal but then this annoying radio static distortion sound is always there. Or, there's no sound at all. Does 10.6.7 have anything to do with it? Or is the 410 just a piece of crap now? I seriously need to record. Any help? Please?
