Airplay streaming lag

I have an original Apple tv, and a macbook pro. Both on the same wireless. And i can often use airplay to stream my music from my comp to the apple tv. however, sometimes when i try and stream the music, it almost seems like it cannot stream fast enough. Any solutions or ideas?

Apple TV, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Have you considered interference, have you tried another wifi channel.

That did not work. I have tried all 11 channels and none of them seemed to help. Whats odd is that sometimes when i try it, it works perfectly, but more often it doesnt.
