Can I show a slideshow from my ipad to a TV?

All I did was buy a cable and I was able to run slideshows from the Photos app onto my TV. There are various cables available (http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipad/ipad_accessories/cables_docks?mc o=MjA1MDk0OTA) you just need to find the one that matches your TVs input type

You can use Apple TV or Apple Digital AV Adapter to play slideshows from Ipad to TV

I have the Digital AV Adapter for iPad 2. Works great in mirroring the screen to the TV, but for slidehsows, it ONLY lets you choose the Dissolve transition. All the others disappear...

An Apple TV is one option as well...lots of ways to go.
