Downloading iBooks 1.3 "Unknown error has occurred"

I just received my IPad 2 yesterday as a gift. One of my first priorities was downloading ibooks, but I keep getting an "unknown error has occurred" dialogue box. I can download other apps without issue and I have reset the iPad numerous times but to no avail. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Are there any solutions? Please don't tell me I have to go buy regular books again.

Try deleting the iBook app on your iPad. Press and hold down the app until it jiggles then tap the circle with an x then tap Delete. You can stop the jiggling by pressing the Home button once or twice.

Now reinstall the iBook app.

Click: View in iTunes here. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ibooks/id364709193?mt=8

Now connect your iPad to your computer, select Apps from the menu then click Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.

Try downloading a book.

If you still have problems, on your computer with iTunes open, from the menu bar click Store / View My Account / Edit Payment Information.

Make sure the Security code and expiration date is available for your debit/credit card then click Done. Try to download a book again.

Unfortunately the issue isnt fixing an existing iBooks download, it is downloading iBooks to begin with. I think thetantalizer (awesome name) may have hit the inail on the ihead: this appears to be a problem with the latest iBook version.

I realize 1.3 is only a week old, but I'm hoping someone out there has had this problem and would be willing to help me fix it.

I got my iPad today and had the same problem initially. Unknown error when trying to download ibooks from itunes. Didn't have to delete anything or reset anything. I had to logout of my apple account using my laptop and then logged back in and verified my billing information and it asked me to agree to the terms and conditions again. Once this was all done I could then successfully download iBooks. Didn't have to setup any separate id.

I was able to download ibooks, netflix, pandora so far. Still testing......
